Computer Aided Design

Samsung Wireless Mouse

The purpose of this project was to demonstrate my Solidworks skills. The brief was to recreate a product on the market in Solidworks whilst understanding how the product has been assembled, what the bill of materials are, how to draft and design the internal architecture, understanding how to render product and so on.

Project Outline

This project made me aware of how important it is to get all the details right. If I didn’t, there could be major consequences and a depletion of the project budget. After completing the CAD model, renders were created using Photoview 360. A technical drawing document was also produced to emulate how professionals would proceed further in the industry.

Goal

To become familiar with Solidworks, a computer-aided design program, and Photoview 360, the built-in rendering program. The goal was understanding how to create, develop components, and design a final product using the assembly feature as well as creating 2D drawings and renders following the industry process.

Challenges

When it comes to working on new programs, users naturally meet challenges, and I came across many whilst using Solidworks for the first time. This meant allocating time to learn how to create entities in Solidworks by watching videos online or learning through professionals I had access to.
